CO2 Reduction Initiatives

We have set greenhouse gas reduction targets through ISO14001 activities and SBT certification, and are actively working towards their achievement.

As part of our ISO14001 activities, we have set greenhouse gas reduction targets and are promoting energy efficiency improvements and the use of renewable energy. In fiscal 2022, we obtained SBT certification covering the following scopes. For Scope 1 and Scope 2, with 2020 as the base year, we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030. We consider reducing environmental impact a corporate responsibility and are committed to achieving a sustainable society.

Carbon Offset Through Afforestation

Since March 2009, we have been planting trees in the 'Global Forest' located in Inner Mongolia, China. This CSR activity is based on the concept of “carbon offset,” where trees are planted in proportion to the volume of waste brought in by emitters.
Carbon offset refers to first making efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO₂, and then investing in reduction activities equivalent to the unavoidable emissions. We will continue our afforestation efforts to contribute to preventing global warming.

Planting approximately 23 trees per month

Reached a total of 5,042 trees*

We started planting trees in 2009 and have planted over 5,000 trees so far.

Monthly reduction of 10 tons of CO₂ emissions.
